Jordan Anderson

Jordan remembers doing handstands against the wall when she was a kid, trying to see how long she could stay up. She never did one as an adult until discovering yoga in 2000. After moving from New York City to Charleston in 2004, she received her teacher training certification through Holy Cow Yoga and Holistic Center and dedicated herself teaching yoga full-time. (Look for her classes at Serenity Now Yoga in Mount Pleasant.)

Jordan took her first Aerial Yoga class in Brooklyn NY with Michelle Dortignac, founder of the technique. She was instantly hooked, and began practicing and learning aerial yoga at home.

In 2009 Jordan traveled back to NYC to study with Michelle Dortignac, and received her Unnata® Aerial Yoga teacher certification. Jordan brings her deep love and respect for the yoga tradition to the aerial practice, with a focus on mindfulness, alignment, and breath in every class.

Unnata®

Unnata® (which means "elevated" in Sanskrit...elevated in both body and mind) Aerial Yoga was developed by Michelle Dortignac, a yoga instructor trained at Om Yoga in NYC in 1998, and an aerialist. Since its inception in 2006 it has drawn people from around the world to its small studio in Brooklyn, NY.

In the first official teacher training, which Jordan was part of, people traveled from as far away as Tokyo Japan, Minneapolis, California, and New York to learn the practice and be able to bring it back to their own communities. Charleston SC joins the list of pioneering cities embracing this incredible new practice.
