Join Jordan and Clayton for a six-week fitness/fun intensive that will get you on track to build amazing upper body and core strength and awareness. It's a fun, exciting, creative, and exhilarating way to build strength, flexibility, and extreme body awareness. Here's what to expect:
Week 1: Aerial Basics. Yoga (aerial and ground) builds body awareness, focus, strength, and flexibility. It was our foundation when we came to aerial circus, so this first week will include some yoga-inspired work to build the foundation for the following weeks. We'll explore aerial variations of traditional yoga postures in the low-hanging silk hammocks, with a focus on learning proper shoulder positioning and core engagement which will be invaluable as the series continues.
Week 2 and 3: Static Trapeze & Lyra. This trapeze does not swing! The goal is to keep it as still as possible as you move your body around underneath, above, and on top of it. Lyra is a steel hoop mounted from either 1 or 2 points, used to create beautiful shapes and transitions either while spinning or still. Trapeze and lyra will be hung at a comfortable height from the ground (not too high!).
Week 4 and 5: Aerial Silks & Hammocks. Learn basic footlocks, splits, and sequences on the aerial silks. This is a beautiful art-form that is very demanding yet rewarding. Come see what it's all about! We'll also build on some hammock techniques and variations. Bring a sense of adventure!
Week 6: Aerial Sampler. Student's choice of apparatus. We can focus on one or explore them all.
Although the apparatuses will change from week to week, techniques learned each week will build on the previous.
Class size is small with lots of "air time" and personal attention.
No experience is required, although it is recommended that you have taken at least 1 aerial yoga class (or the equivalent) previously so that you have some idea of how your body reacts to being on the fabric. If you have any physical issues please check with your doctor first. Email
hang@aerialfit.com with any questions you may have. Space is extremely limited...advance reservations required!
About Jordan and Clayton:
Jordan and Clayton discovered the aerial arts "a bit later in life" (mid-late 30's). The body awareness they learned in yoga was invaluable in speeding their learning curve. They've studied and practiced with aerialists from across the US and beyond, and they now perform as
Wonderson Duo for public, private, and corporate events of all sizes. They know what it feels like to be a beginner learning something challenging, and they enjoy helping others learn to do the impossible!

Aerial Silks is a beautiful art-form that is very empowering. This series includes work in the aerial sling (hammock) as well as on the vertical silks. We'll learn form, technique, postures, transitions, and sequences on the aerial fabric. Expect to build upper body and core strength, hang around upside down, and have fun!
Although the series is designed for all levels, you will get the most out of it if you are able to hold your own body weight in a pull-up position for at least 5 seconds with bent arms. Not there yet? Join our Aerial Circus Sampler Series, or drop into one of our Aerial Yoga or Upper Body classes to begin building the necessary upper body and core strength to hold your own weight.
Class size is extremely limited. Pre-registration is required.
Aerial Yoga - Beginner Series
When: 4 consecutive Mondays starting March 5th, 5:30 - 6:30 PM
$75. Pre-registration required.
Location: West Ashley
(Email us to be on the waitlist for the series starting February 6th.)

Curious about aerial yoga? Learn the basics at your own pace with a 4-week intro series designed to familiarize students with the low-hanging fabric hammock. Everyone is welcome...no previous experience needed in yoga or aerials.
Students with limited flexibility find they can easily access deeper stretches, and very flexible students learn how to pull everything together from their core. Expect to smile and laugh, but emerge deeply restored. After this series you will feel comfortable dropping into any all-levels aerial yoga class.
Class size is extremely limited, with each student working on their own hammock the entire time. Pre-registration is required.
