Summer Intensive reminders

Summer Intensive reminders

Summer Intensive Reminders Our Summer Intensive Program is starting tomorrow, and everyone taking part in this program is increasing the intensity of their training to work toward specific personal goals during the six weeks. As people who spend a lot of time physically training toward specific goals ourselves (whether it be an upcoming performance, trying to achieve new skills, or just working to get stronger or more flexible), we want everyone to know the following tips and tricks that we use to keep ourselves in tip top shape. 1. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF Your body needs plenty of sleep, and plenty of good nutrition, to meet the increased demands you will be placing on it. With proper nutrition and sleep, your body will be able to repair and rebuild from the demands placed on it. Make these two things a top priority as you increase your training, and when your body tells you it needs rest listen to it. 2. PREHAB, PREHAB, PREHAB Pre-hab refers to simple daily exercises we do to help avoid injuries in the first place, and to prevent a small tweak from becoming a bigger problem.  Injuries can definitely put a halt to your training, and

Family Playshop

Family Playshop

Family Playshop The Family Playshop is the perfect class for family members to play together. Mom and child, Dad and child or even adult children with adventurous parents are all welcome. For ages 7 – 90. Everyone will learn aerial circus skills in a cooperative and safe environment. We will be working on soft (yet strong) aerial fabric. You will learn different ways to hang, swing, spin, stand and even hanging upside down on the apparatus like a circus performer. This is a fun bonding experience so make sure to bring a camera. There will be photo opportunities throughout class so that you can share your experiences! One single drop-in purchase of $35 reserves spots for two family members. Additional family members can be added for $15 each. Saturday June 30th at 2:30pm.  Reserve your spot at this link.

Beyond Flips and Tricks

Beyond Flips and Tricks

Beyond Flips and Tricks The aerial yoga hammock is a very versatile prop and it can be a lot of fun to explore creative ways to incorporate it into our yoga practice. The aerial yoga hammock that we use in Unnata® Aerial Yoga is often the same apparatus as the aerial sling aerialists use for aerial acrobatics and circus acts. They are both equally awesome and equally challenging, but they are not one in the same. Even though the aerial yoga hammock and the circus sling share some obvious and important similarities the two approaches of aerial yoga and aerial circus actually have very little in common!
