Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training

Unnata® Aerial Yoga Teacher Training

Aerial Yoga is a discipline that incorporates elements of both yoga and aerial arts. The method that we teach, Unnata®, is founded in real yoga and continues to develop as the result of a collaborative effort among yoga instructors from a variety of lineages around the world. The Unnata® teacher training program is second to none! We offer Unnata® Aerial Yoga Teacher Trainings once each year at our studio in Charleston, SC, and we are available to travel to your studio to host either a private or a publicly advertised teacher training there as well.

Unnata® Aerial Yoga teacher training is a comprehensive 65 hour advanced yoga training program that develops thoughtful, safe, and informed aerial yoga instructors.

2019 Charleston SC dates:

Two consecutive 4-day weekends, August 1-4 and 8-11. All days are full days!
For those traveling in from out of town, there will be 3 days in between the two weekends when you will be free to explore all that Charleston has to offer including great beaches, lots of yoga studios, and lots of southern charm. Past participants have turned it into a learning vacation, and some have even come with their families.

The full program cost is $1,650. You can receive a $150 early bird discount by paying the total before July 1, 2019. A $500 deposit is required once your application has been accepted, to reserve your spot in the training. Total payment due July 15, 2019.

The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training program is available only to students who are already Certified Yoga Instructors. It is also highly recommended to have taken several aerial yoga or aerial acrobatics classes before attending the course.

About the program

The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training program is a comprehensive 8-day (65 hour) training designed for current yoga instructors that teaches the how and why of integrating the aerial yoga hammock into their current yoga knowledge. It may be used as continuing education for current yoga instructors, whether or not you have interest in teaching aerial yoga. Unnata Aerial Yoga uses the aerial hammock as a tool to explore and inform floor asanas, and in this program we will examine over 100 different postures and how the floor and air postures inspire each other. You will also learn how to put together an aerial yoga class, safety and spotting techniques, rigging for aerial yoga, and how to work with a variety of populations.

This course contains a lot of material packed into a short amount of time. Days will be long (but fun) and intense on your body and mind. Unnata Aerial Yoga has built a reputation on quality instruction, and in order to receive a teaching certificate, you must take 100% of the training and pass the final exam.

Unnata Aerial Yoga was developed by Michelle Dortignac, and Jordan Anderson is one of only three Official Unnata® Course Leaders based in the US. You can learn more about the program on the founder’s website here.

Aerial Fit® Teacher Trainings

We’ve spent years developing, testing, and evolving our teaching curriculum and practices and we’re proud of the progressions we’ve developed that grow beginner aerialists up into strong, confident, and knowledgeable movers in the air. As of this writing, Aerial Fit’s founders have more than 10,000 hours of direct teaching experience in aerial arts, including aerial silks, aerial sling, static trapeze, aerial hoop, aerial yoga, handstands, and more. The proof is in our students…visit our Student Showcases page to see our students in action.

Acceptance into our teacher training program is by application only, including required video skills. To prepare to attend a teacher training in the future, please train with great coaches in your area and work to develop a strong, confident, controlled practice yourself. This is the absolute minimum required foundation to develop before attempting to instruct.

Our Aerial Silks, Aerial Sling, Aerial Hoop, and Static Trapeze teacher training programs are currently open only to Aerial Fit students, however, we will post updates here when available.
